Jody at the airport A large statue of a deity on the road to Vrindavan. A white animal (a dog, probably) is seated on the walkway, to give you an idea of the size of this monument. We saw several large monuments like this in India; they are common. Cows Lord Krishna jumped from a big Kadamba Tree into the Yamuna river, in order to chastise the Kaliya serpent who was poisoning the waters of the river. The Kadamba tree that is here is said to be the exact same tree that Krishna jumped from, 5,000 years ago This monkey got his hand on Jody's camera, but could not quite steal it! Ancient deity we saw in one of the temples. We were told it dated back to the time of Krishna, some 500 years ago. Scene of woman, who we were told were widow, chanting the "maha mantra", also known as the Hare Krishna mantra.
